It also makes a great beer bottle opener. It's a win win!

Just finished watching the PBP video. Wow, it's great! For you PBP veterans, have they done this every year? What a nice memento. Thank you Audax Club Parisien!

Unfortunately my dvd has a regional block on it and it will not work
in my dvd player. Anyone know how to fix this?

Same here, but I was able to play on my PC.
I think the DVD does not have region code but uses PAL, not NTSC.
If you have PC with DVD read/write drive, you should be able to create NTSC DVD from PAL DVD.

I put the PBP DV in my PC DVD drive - copied it to my hard drive that is
shared with the TV. And using the Samsung TV opened the hard drive went to
the PBP copy and played it on the TV.

I will later try to burn it back to DVD and see if it will work with my TV
DVD player.

I would guess it is NOT a region code issue but that nasty PAL/SECAM vs.
NTSC

Like Masa and Jim, I think it's probably that the DVD is encoded with
the PAL video standard, used in Europe and elsewhere, not the NTSC
video standard used in the US. There's no reason for a non-commercial
organization to use DVD region encoding.

Try playing it on your computer. If you need a DVD player application,
try VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Same advice as others--it played fine on my MacBook Pro here in the USA, and I was able to create an MP4 version using a free DVD converter and then import it into iTunes.

I'll see if I can upload it to YouTube tonight.

I think the DVD has a euro region code. If you have a DVD player that
is "unlocked" (doesn't pay attention to region codes) then it should
be fine. It might also play in a Blu Ray player.

If none of these work, DVD security has been hacked many times, so
there are ways to rip the DVD and re-render the contents without
region code information. Ripping a DVD you legally own for your own
personal use is legal in many places, but not all places. One of the
places it may not be legal is the US, so even though your chance of
trouble on this is slight, it might be a good project for your next
trip to Canada, if there will be one soon.

In any case, unlocked DVD players are not expensive. If I didn't have
one, I'd need at least three DVD players, so as to view the European
and Japanese discs we have.

Got home from work last night and went straight to the mailbox, packet was so big it was sitting on the front doorstep instead.  Felt like Christmas!!  What a beautiful and substantial acknowlegement of a proud accomplishment.

Yes, THANKS Mark(s) and the SIR crew for mailing the packets!

It's not a region problem with the DVD, it's usually linked to the age
of the DVD player ,which were designed to show a limited range of
formats to counter piracy. Randonneurs are often early adopters, so
they often seem to have this problem. Cheap Chinese DVD players
displaying through LCD TVs are a lot more tolerant.
I took a look at the official video online, as ours haven't arrived in
the UK. I spotted Heather at 2.34 interviewing a lady who had a
picture from her daughter on top of her bar-bag. She didn't make the
final cut of our film, as we had another interview with a lady and her
grand-daughter. I especially liked the interview with one of the twins
at Brest, where she was overcome by people's generosity. It was
interesting to see where we overlapped.
