One Way 300k

Looking for some input on a 300k I'm planning from Burlington, VT to
Utica (New Hartford), NY. I live in Burlington and will be visiting
family in Utica. My wife will meet me somewhere in the ADKs on her way
through (probably around Speculator). I may or may not register this
as a permanent or 'free route'.

Any suggestions, comments, etc. are welcomed. I'm at a loss for
getting into and out of Utica (New Hartford) as I do not know the
local roads here and would like to avoid downtown Utica as I'll be
arriving between 5-7pm. I'm also open to heading further south - but
the route along Rt. 8 will likely be low traffic (middle of a weekday)
and pleasant (August).

I've driven most of the route from Pottersville, NY to Poland, NY -
and I am familiar with the side roads to and from either the Essex
Ferry or the Crown Point Bridge (ferry or bridge will be based on my
start time).
