Fellow Randos, As luck would have it we are still alive and plan again to
host The Texas Time Trials, our 7th year. Lone Star Randonneurs and other
North Texas Cycling Clubs and cycling enthusiast, will volunteer to make
your experience a pleasant one. We offer 5 separate events, a 20 mile, a 6
hour, a 12 hour, a 24 hour and a 500 mile Time Trial / RAAM Qualifier. These
are races with first place honors, but these events closely resemble a
randonneuring event in that many riders are self sufficient grabbing up
their own water bottles as they pass their cars on the 20 mile scenic and
challenging route. There are no expensive follow vehicles allowed on the
route only neutral sag. This is not the kind of race that has a large pack
of riders drafting towards a final sprint. The race pits rider against clock
as in a Brevet, and all official finishers will earn an awesome TTTT Trophy.
The bragging rights to have competed in a 24 hour race or a RAAM Qualifier
will last a lifetime. Approximately 30% of our entrants have never entered a
cycling race in their life, while another 30% are world class, this makes
for a pleasant mixture and a great atmosphere.
Please take the time to check our The Texas Time Trails website

The best thing to do is go to the TTTT Website download
the application, print it, fill it out, pick a race and send it in. Don't
think
twice and don't look back. That way you are committed and can get your
head wrapped around the fact that you will be there with your bike and
ride. That's how I get myself into most of the things I do. If I
waited till August to sign up for PBP, I probably would never have
gone, but by purchasing an airline tickets in February I'm committed, you'll
have to trust me on this one. I cannot tell you how many things I
wished I would have done, but through procrastination of turning in
the application, I missed out on. I'm sure you will be glad you did,
the memories and the TTTT Trophy will last much longer than the ride. Feel
free to email
me with questions.
Thank you, DanD
