Off-topic alert!

I hope I don't start a flame war, but I'm curious if there are any
LGBT folks in the randonneuring community here. I know that cycling
has nothing to do with being gay, and I've certainly had nothing but
fantastic experiences and phenomenal support from the cycling
community at large, but it's Pride month in the US (happy Pride month,
everyone!) and the curiosity cells in my brain are begging me to
inquire. I certainly can't be the only one!

Would be great to hear from other like-minded folks.

No flaming, just welcoming! Thanks for the Pride month reminder.

Randonneurs ride bikes long distances but that's about it for defining who we are near as I can tell. The most quoted phrase I hear is "randonneuring is a big tent", and you're under it with the rest of us.

Thanks for being out and open. And no, you are not the only one. See you on the road!

Peace
Steve

Years ago, when I was living near New York City, I used to run across riders from the Fast and Fabulous Cycling Club. I just checked, and the club is still there, with a very nice web site:

http://www.fastnfab.org/index.html

Might be worth sending an inquiry ...

Thanks for the warm welcome, all.

Yes, I do feel that the randonneuring community is very special,
indeed, with its focus on camaraderie over competitiveness. That said,
it's always a wonderful treat to discover even more traits about
others that are similar to your own.

Happy riding, and happy Pride!

:-)

Newbie,

I've been involved in randonneuring and ultracycling for decades and
I've never known sexual orientation nor relationship status to be an
issue. Welcome!!!
