The Mondial Award is for those that have ridden 40,000k of US brevets.

Prior to 2009 riding a specific permanent was only counted once in your annual distance.

To earn the Mondial Award will all permanents be counted toward the 40,000k or will pre 2009 multi-ridden perms only count once?

Hi Willy,

Since the once-per-year restriction applied to the Distance Awards,
and since the Mondial is not a "derivative" award (that is, not based
on other awards), all permanents will be counted. Happy riding
towards that 40,000km mark!

I understand that this is a RUSA award and how the distance was
chosen. But am I the only one that thinks it is odd that since the
Mondial means world wide or global that only RUSA sanctioned events
are included? In theory, one could establish permanents and
populaires in their own neighborhood and eventually earn this award.
Yes, it is an achievement to cycle 40,000 RUSA sanctioned km and
equal to the circumference of the earth, but would it be global?
