Grand Bois tires on a tandem?

Hi,

Has anyone have used Grand Bois tires on a tandem? I'm thinking of
putting 700x30 version on 24mm wide rims. The team's weight is about
315 pounds, we're on the tall side. Normally we ride Vittoria
Randonneur Hypers in 700x32. Hypers are fairly tough all around
tires. Grand Bois would be for the special events only. Would they
be too fragile for the intended use? Ideas, feedback, suggestions are
much appreciated.

The Bilenky tandem at NAHBS had 650B Hetres.

The UMCA Massachusetts E-W mixed tandem record was set on 700x30 Grand Bois tires.

~150 miles on a nice day, no flats; YMMV.

I'm about as big as a tandem team and I've used Grand Bois tires with
good results, although the rears tend to wear out pretty fast, i.e.,
1000ish miles tops or so.

I used the GB 30's on my tandem for about 1000 miles. They seemed to need around 80-85 psi for our ~260 lb load, felt fast, and I loved how they cornered. I switched to Jack Brown "Greens" so I could run lower pressures and go faster down rough dirt roads. Not as nice of tires, but much better for my riding.
