I downloaded the package but it hasn't updated my version of ruby, it's still showing ruby 1.8.7 and rails is not found. I am new to all of this and I'm a beginner learning through "One Month Rails" so please be nice.

Hello Leticia

We need more information about what version of RailsInstaller you downloaded, for which platform/operating system and if you had a previous installation of Ruby/Rails installers in place.

Most likely, last point is correct (you had an existing installation) and that is affecting what you see.

The more details you provide, the better will be able to assist you.

Hi Leticia,

Did you make sure and re-open the Terminal application after installing RailsInstaller? Additionally, it may help to reboot the computer.

Thanks,
Evan Machnic

Leticia,

What does `rvm info` output? Additionally, would you be able to meet in #railsinstaller on Freenode IRC?

Thanks,
Evan Machnic

I think I am having the same problem. Mountain Lion OSX, Rails Installer..

I know I *USED* to have 1.9.3. But it did not have psych for libyaml. So I tried to reinstall, uninstall, reinstall everything.

Now everything is messed up ;-(

How can I start all over?
