Hi I am new in ruby.

I had no problem to install the railsinstaller in my macbook air but now i try to install it to my imac 2/2010 version I get this
Error changing group of /opt/rix to rvm.

In terminal i check ruby -v
ruby 1.8.7 (2012-02-08 patchlevel 358) [universal-darwin12.0]

So what i do next?

Hello,

I am having the same issue with the installer, on a MacBook Pro running 10.8.2 too.

Is there something we can do to fix this ?

Thanks,
Stéphane

What version of the installer is it? Can you show the output?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Ok, i re build my mac osx again.
I did the xcode install and also the command line tools install.
Reboot my machine and install the RailsInstaller-1.0.4-osx-10.7 and it works.

It's possible. Xcode likes to mess things up.

I had the same problem, and for me the solution couldn't be more simple... Just rebooting my computer. And it works.

I had the exact same problem running 10.8.2. I simply restarted my computer and it looks like it's working. It got past that point and is installing. If there are any errors later on, I'll edit this and update.

Yes, just reboot your Mac. This is probably related to a recent install of xcode.

When I first read this I thought Evan was being a smart alec, but as it turns out, he was absolutely right.

No need to reinstall anything.

Just reboot your computer.

Same issue here with the Macbook Pro.  The restart worked for me as well.  Cheers!  And thanks for everyone's replies.  Very helpful.

I ran into this problem as well, a restart didn't work for me though. Any other ideas?

@Sam It gave me that same error, and for whatever reason, once I donwloaded the installer, restarted my computer, it installed like a champ.

I do have Xcode on my computer, but it appears to be working fine.

Good luck!

Just needs a restart of OSX and you should be good to go.
