Solution for "app/views/welcome/index.html.erb" problem (Win7)...

So I may be late to the party with this one, but I just had this problem and finally found the solutions myself:

Go back to the config/routes.rb file you opened in the text editor.
Make sure the root :to => 'welcome#index' code you modified is closer to the left column.
When I went back and backed that code up a few more spaces, it generated the "welcome" folder and index.html.erb file.

Hi Michael,

The routes.rb file doesn't have anything to do with the generator running and so should not affect the `rails g` command. It's likely there was an issue elsewhere that may have caused the behavior you were seeing.
