Hey Nigel,
I'm aware that we could have taken that approach but my rationale for this follows two points:
1) The scale of this one is quite a bit bigger and I want to keep all ticket history and funds listed in one spot as the opportunity for miscommunication and lost funds and other adminstrative screw ups is a bit bigger. The RC funds spreadsheet is enough of a pain in my ass without having to track transfers etc.
2) We pay a per head cost per person (as long as we don't drop below the agreed minimum from the venue) so it's no skin off our backs if the person who can't make it. It also takes the stress off that person to find someone to take the ticket.
