Hi everyone,

The camp is only 13 sleeps away!! so it's time for a big update and some notifications.

For the first time campers, yes you need to bring your own bedding, toiletries - ie a sleeping bag, pillow,
toothbrush & paste etc... We have a full list of suggestions here: http://railscamps.com/#nz_mar_2013

For those that have booked a seat on the Bus it will be leaving the Wellington Train station at 2pm on the
Friday and will be leaving the camp at 10am on the Monday. I think it's a 50ish minute journey. The easiest
way to get from the airport to the train station is with the Airport Flyer bus: http://www.airportflyer.co.nz/

If you're not going to be needing your bus seat in either of the directions can you please let me know so we
don't send out search parties thinking you're lost.

If you are getting yourself to the camp, it's the YMCA Camp Kaitoke here: http://goo.gl/maps/33uEL and feel
free to turn up from 3pm onwards. If you'll be substantially later can you please let me know.

Additionally does anyone driving have a spare seat? I know of someone who's plane is arriving when the bus
leaves. :-(

We're supplying beer and fizzy drinks this year as part of your ticket. And to help us do that Trineo have come
onboard again as major sponsor after helping us out last year. Thanks guys! Love your website design
too: http://trineo.co.nz

What type of beer? Last year we ran dry of the Weka Cider real quick, so there will be more of that this year
including a selection of craft beers. If you do want something else feel free to bring it, but be prepared to
share ;-)

And yup, having totaly slipped our minds for the first camp in 2011, we have t-shirts this year. They are
kindly sponsored by our third major sponsor YouDo (http://youdo.co.nz). They also host the monthly WellRailed
meetings in their sweet sweet office: http://www.zoomin.co.nz/photos/3/9/5/d/395d4de2b54069fc6948.jpg

We'll have a projector this year too, it takes HDMI and VGA, so if you want to show stuff off, etc.. please
bring an adapter.

And just a quick reminder of our first major sponsor - Powershop (http://www.powershop.co.nz). As well as
powering some of your homes they'll be powering us all up by covering the coffee at the camp. So a big ups to
them for that!

We also have AbleTech and Github sponsoring IT Gear and Github additionally providing prizes for the Sunday
Night Demo using the above mentioned projector. Thanks guys!

If you get lost in your attempts to find the Wellington train station (http://goo.gl/maps/MKjjW) or something
else unexpected happens and you need to contact us, our phone numbers have been sent to you in the
direct email. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

Thanks Nuhum,

I'm only now booking flights from Melbourne and I am left with 2 options: land at 3pm on Friday, or 12:10am on Saturday. Either way I'm going to miss the bus. Are there any others coming from Melbourne in the same boat? or anyone leaving the airport/wellington after 3pm with a  spare seat?

Hi all,

Just a quick clarification about the YMCA Camp Kaitoke location for those getting themselves there as something screwy happened with the google maps link that I previously sent.

This is the map location: http://goo.gl/maps/RhI8D

Oddly the camp doesn't have their address listed anywhere, but it's at the end of Kiwi Ranch Rd, Pakuratahi, Upper Hutt

If you can't make the bus due to flights/work/etc then the cheapest option seems to be getting a supershuttle as it'll be about $100. You can catch a cab, but it'll be about twice the price. I went to their site and said the destination was Kaitoke: https://www.supershuttle.co.nz

Hi there,

I am driving up from Wellington in my own car, so I can potentially take you two.

Let me know,
Tim

That would be awesome, I'm looking at flights now, probably end up getting in around 3, so train station around 4 I would imagine. Is that too late?

Turns out I'm not going to be able to drive. Can anyone let me know if there is still room on the bus?

Yes, I'll add you to the bus. :) Hopefully Tim has room in his car for the others!

Tim, are you still driving and do you have room for one more?

My flight doesn't land until 2.30pm. So I won't make the bus.

If Tim isn't, are there any other drivers?

Nahum, I'll take the bus back, though :)

To all, I am currently giving Ivan a ride.
Lachlan, sure.
I can probably fit 4 people plus myself at a squeeze.

I am guessing people will have small baggage too.

Ciao,
Tim

Hi Jia Hen,

Let me know if you still need a ride.
I might be able to shuttle people to and from a cafe near the airport. Then we can all relax while we wait for the final arrival.

Ciao,
Tim

Is there room to put some musical instruments? I was planning to bring some guitars up for fun.

I don't think I will fit them in with so many others in the car.

Cheers,
Tim

Does anyone have a spare sleeping bag that I could borrow? I'm not going home before leaving for NZ tomorrow.

Much appreciated.
