it should be possible to call FreeTDS - including the pesky structured strings -
entirely using FFI now. Anyone want to try the experiment? If you can get a
connection established, that would prove the point, and we could take it from there
and eliminate the need for TinyTDS with its C extension.

Very interesting. Are there performance considerations? Really neat topic, just so new to the idea. Maybe worth opening up an issue on github just to track it too?
