Hey all,

With Railscamp coming up, has anyone started planning the ground transportation to/from railscamp from/to the airport?

This is my first railscamp, so I'm not sure how folks have done it in the past.  Van rental?  I just wanted to get the ball rolling on a transport thread, so, here it is.  Maybe we'll just bring it up at the next Sydney RoRo meeting?

I heard rumours of people catching trains out to Crib Point then a bus going from Crib Point Station to the camp site, but nothing too solid.

I'd also like to start nailing down these plans. I'll be in Melbourne from Thu so meeting a travel crew early friday to go the camp site will be good. I don't really know Melbourne that well and would prefer going as a group if we are going to take the public transport route.

I'd also like to go with a group. That way I'll have someone else to
get lost with :)

What time Friday is the venue open? I have the day off, so wouldn't
mind getting there relatively early, but the railscamps.au site says
"Starts on the afternoon of Friday November 20th" ...

I'm intending to get there pretty early to help set up, too. Waiting to hear from Schwarz what time that might be...

Guys, I'll be heading down for lunch time to get some setup done and
get situated.
The camp "officially" opens at 5pm, but you can arrive pretty much any
time after 2:30 – 3pm.

John is handling transport stuff, I'll be handling electronic stuff.
You'll hear from us pretty soon.

I'll be driving down early to drop some stuff off, then heading back
to Melbourne for a concert, then driving down late Friday (midnightish).

If people want lifts down on either of the trips then let me know.
Same goes for trips back Monday (no idea when I'll be leaving though).
Cheers,

Hey,

The bus organisation is moving along:

see - http://groups.google.com/group/railscamp/browse_thread/thread/a58cf76082fd780f

It's probably better to have any transport related discussion over on
the railscamp group rather than roro (just to keep it specific)

You're right, John. Totally my bad for posting here.
