Hi everyone!

It's the Melbourne Ruby User Group this Thursday (28th of August @
6:30PM), and it's being held at:

Thoughtworks: Level 11, 155 Queen Street, Melbourne
(SMS Mark on 0414 740 489 if you can't scale skyscrapers)

The most awesome speakers are:

* Gareth Townsend [1] on CSS Transforms, Transitions and Animations.
* Adam Meehan [2] on make_resourceful, a restful controller plugin
for Rails.
* Mark Ryall [3] on Iron Ruby Silverlight 2!

There'll be a re-run of 'Pizza: Thoughtworks Edition' and probably
(er, most likely) drinks afterwards. Remember we get 'mates rates' at
the Chaise Lounge! Ruby Noobies are welcome and it'll be ace I'm sure.
See you there!

Ryan.

This is a bit lame but i'm afraid i'm not going to have anything coherent prepared by tomorrow evening - the suspense will have to build for another month on ironruby and silverlight 2.

Is there anyone else that might be able to present something?  Otherwise, it'll be off the pub a bit early.

See you all tomorrow night.

Mark.

PS. Is there someone on the list that can do something about the vandalism of the home page on http://groups.google.com.au/group/melbourne-ruby - it doesn't really represent the group in a flattering light.

Not I(*), but if someone wanted to do a quick "switching to Merb" or
"intro to Merb" talk I'd appreciate that.

(*) Well, I could show the final 5 minutes on conceptual queries that
got cut off my last talk, or even an informal walkthrough of the meta-
programming that makes the Ruby API of ActiveFacts work.

Two talks will fill in the time just fine, and folks don't usually
object to early pub visits anyway.
