Hello All,

I'm glad to announce that at the recent meeting of the RadioDNS board in Las Vegas, the RadioEPG Technical Specification v1.0 was ratified, and thus becomes the official release. You can find this document on the website: http://www.radiodns.org/docs.

I'm looking forward to seeing implementations of the spec, both by Broadcasters and Device Manufacturers/Directory Service Providers. It will be exciting to see the RadioEPG ecosystem come together, and also to see how people then start to use that.

In other news, our recommendation for a name change of the RadioEPG project was put forward, but as yet no decision has been made. Its a tricky call to make, as it involves defining exactly what we will be using this name for, and so the plan is to take consultation from people involved in Marketing.

Also, I have taken on the Lead position for the RadioEPG project, having passed on the baton of leading the RadioVIS team to others. I see my activities for the RadioEPG project in the coming months as being one of encouraging different organisations to consider and implement the technology.

If you think we, as a project, should be speaking to any particular Broadcaster/Device Manufacturer/Directory Service Provider that you think we are not currently, then please drop me a line.

If you or your organisation want to start implementing the technology but are not sure where to start, then also drop me a line and I should be able to help you out.

B
