Getting started on Windows

As far as I understand, I followed the steps described in the PDF to
setup TORCS on windows; but I cannot get it running. Here is what I
did:
a. Download TORCS 1.3.1 (i.e. not the latest version) install exe
b. Run install (using default settings everywhere)
c. Check that TORCS work and close the program.
d. Download the patch.
e. Unzip the patch / making sure folders are merged and files are
replaced where needed.
f. Run TORCS to see that the patch is working.
At step (f) after clicking 'accept' on the 'select track' screen, the
following error is displayed in a dialog:
"The procedure entry point getTimeout could not be located in the
dynamic link library tgf.dll"
If you are running on windows; please help.

I get the same error on TORCS version 1.3.3, version 1.3.0 and version
1.2.4
Seems that linux is the way to go.

I have almost exactly the same problem ("The procedure entry point getTimeout could not be located in the
> dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\torcs\drivers\scr_server\scr_server.dll"). This was not the case for older versions of the patch as I had it working before. Is there work to solve this bug?

I don't have a direct solution, but it will be important to know what Windows version do both of you have.

yes, it is not the latest Torcs version, that is correct.
