I may want the seats. Are they heated? Fold forward?
Rebuilding my 2+2 into an electric vehicle.

The body tub is now scrapped; like the Norwegian Blue it is no more.

Parts remaining if anyone's interested:

Front suspension struts
Rear suspension and axle
Bonnet latch (the bit that goes over the heater motor)
Two Audi TT leather seats
Windscreen and rubber

Anything left will be on the Bay once I'm back from my holidays: I'm
driving round Norway in the Coupe starting Saturday.

Anthony,

They fold forward, and lift the rear slightly as they do, but there are no associated electrical parts with them.

Black leather, very comfortable. They are labelled 'airbag' but as far as I know contain no airbag parts. I can sort some pictures tonight (need to pull them from the camera).

Shall we touch base after we both get back from holidays?

Any idea where I can get a new set of contact brushes for the rear window motor – in use for the light flaps

or who made them.
Bosch?

Sorry I can't help directly, but (you may already know this) if you can find some similar (maybe a little bigger) off another electric motor it  is possible (if a little fiddly) to reduce the size with a file to make them fit. Martin

Hi,
We never did sprt this out....
How easy was it to get the Audi TT seats in the 2+2. Much work to do on the runners or fairly straight forward?  And the driving height is fine too?  Are they comfortable? Better than XR2 seats?

Anthony,
I have some TT seats to go in my saloon when I get it back, I measured them up as I had a TT at the time and they should go in easily, the runners go flat on the
floor so hopefully nothing more than drilling a few more holes. I also bought the heater controls as I planned to have them heated.

Regards, Russell

Hans, I've recently taken apart a faulty motor to try and repair it (no success), I'd be happy to send you the brushes if you'll cover postage? They're not amazed no but I reckon they have a bit of life left. But - as I discovered, it all gets horrible fiddly once you take the magnetic casing off, would it not be worth trying to source a replacement motor instead? If I remember rightly I think the wire from the brushes is soldered in place too.

Hi Niall

Thanks for remembering me and my past troubles. I managed to make my own.
I found router brushes at a local hardware store that where usable and
sanded them to fit the rear wiper motor
than soldered them to the existing wiring.
Paid € 10,- instead of € 150 for a new motor at a Bosh service centre - "we
do not rebuild motors anymore, waste of time" . . . what a waist of good
material - just throw away and pay

Hans
