Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to post an update. I have been doing part-time
therapy work now for one month. I love love love it!!! I am now
trying to figure out how to make my way out of School Counseling and
do outpatient full-time. I have seem progress from my client already
by using RealityTherapy/Choice Theory. The paperwork and training is
a bear at first, but getting to do counseling with families is great.
Nothing is better at school. It is actually worse. 64 classes a
month and two duties so that teachers can have planning time. I am
still try to hold on to my real real job description and do
individual, group, and family and agency collaboration/resources, but
it is burning down to the ground. And all I get is grief. First I
hear she isn't teaching enough classes and then I hear she isn't
seeing enough students. But nobody has access to what I am doing
other than my class schedule and group schedule. I am now having to
write lesson plans that have already been written on little forms that
the teachers use. In other words I have been turned into a "Guidance
Teacher" so with that said, after 20 years in educator and strong
love for kids and families, I do not think I can do it anymore. I am
suffering physical symptoms now and I know that I am spinning on my
back wheels most of the time as a result of this job.
Anyway I hope everyone else is doing good and continuing to see
success.
Oh yeah, I finally got my copyright and I have an offer to have my
manual reviewed. I am still thinking about it at this point. MJ
