compare_categories.py - coding of groups

Hi QIIME team,
When I was using compare_categories.py function, I found that the
function didn't work well with number coded category. For example,
when I coded the three groups of my samples as 0, 1 and 2
respectively, they were recognized as 2 groups for some reasons, as
shown by Df = 1 in the output file. However, when I coded the same
groups of samples as A, B and C respectively, they were recognized as
3 groups (Df = 2), and the p value was also different. Is this
expected? Does this function only work with letter coded categories?

Can you post the command that you ran when this occurred?
