TOP 3 REQUIRED SKILLS

·         data modeling – star schema, cubes, dimensional modeling, etc.  We want someone with Advanced DM skills although they won’t be the one actually building it, their team will (knowing about Entity relationship is good but won’t need that)

·         Data warehousing – Again need someone with advanced conceptual knowledge of this

·         Architecture - specifically designing the Data Models which ends up being the Data Warehouse (backup strategy, disk connection, IOPS calcs, software evals, service level agreements, is high ability needed?, etc)  They would prefer to have someone who has actually “owned the design/architecture process before but will look at people who have been apart of teams

 

TOP 3 DESIRED SKILLS

·         SQL experience is almost a must, complex queries.  Don’t use SSRS.  They run MYSQL, DB2 and one product on SQL server.  Don’t need database expert but need strong knowledge

·         ETL- maybe write ETL but not primary resp.  Doesn’t care what tool, they use  Penpaho and will use some SSIS.  Informatica or datastage is fine.  Understand data flows and movement.  We are tool agnostic.

·         BI experience – reporting, dashboarding, creating reports BO, Cognos, anything

·         Management experience- not a must and they can train on this but would be nice to have
