Hi all,

I'm new to Q4E. I have a existing WTP 3.0 Dynamic Web project, which I
decided would be best ported to Maven to support its future growth,
testing, deployment etc.

So I installed Q4E into Ganymede ok, but it seemed to only support
creating new Maven projects. Is there a way to add it to an existing
project?

Alternately, if I must, I can I delete my project and copy the
resources into a fresh Maven project. However, when I did a test of
this with an archetype, WTP wanted the web content root at
"WebContent", which conflicted with Maven. I couldn't see how I could
change that web content path in WTP - does anyone know?

A description of how to handle these kinds of project creation & setup
issues would be very useful on your wiki. I felt there was very little
information on using the plugin once I had installed.

Thank you
Ben

Adding wtp support to an already existing project is still not available.

The best way to do so is to create a pom.xml for your project, specify war packaging, adapt paths, etc...

Then remove the project from the workspace and delete all eclipse-generated files so Eclipse will cleanly import it (this might not be needed).

Now import the project back to your workspace. WTP support should be automatically added, with the web content folder properly set up.

Thanks for your help. I created a new Maven project and copied my web
content in, and are now enjoying full Q4e functions including WTP
integration.

While q4e addresses a limited set of tasks, what it does it seems to
work well. I appreciate that.
