If you've got time to learn, I would start with Python.  Learning the basics and playing with the Imri stuff.

If you've got more time, you can learn from the Django tutorial and build your first Django site.

Once you're done with that, learn some apps. I would start with django.contrib and then sign in to bitbucket and github to get some elegant Django apps to read like django-tagging, django-piston and django-openid.

See you,

Benny

If you know some programming but need a quick crash course to Python,
http://hetland.org/writing/instant-python.html is good.

Great, thanks! I've been programming since '94, Turbo Pascal 7 and
stuff :P
Now in the Internet era, I'm using PHP OOP, MVC architectures, ORM and
other delicious stuff..
A lot of people say PHP is a mess, but I disagree, PHP code can be
beautiful, obviously it's up to the coder :)

I agree - ppl can write beautiful code in any language. Python is not the only way, just the easiest one.

Do you know "The pit of success"?
http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000940.html
Although it's written about C#, it has a very strong point.
