I've used pymorph and mahotas for research and am now publishing the results, and I would like to acknowledge the authors in some way.. How should, if at all, pymorph and mahotas be cited?
even if it refers to an old version (before I took over maintaining it).

For mahotas, I have not yet gotten around to writing a publication about it. I recently decided to, but I will only get to it after I have submitted a few other things in the pipe (including another paper about software: https://github.com/luispedro/jug-paper)
I will probably write it as an open paper and announce it here when I do.
In the meanwhile, I would just appreciate if you mention my name and the package name.
Best,
Luis

I have no access to this book. Does it describe the software all? I would prefer to provide a reference that clearly points to you and your software. Is it OK if I cite your web page or the github location of the software?

It has code examples using an old version of pymorph.
