Hello Darren,
I don't know if you meant to do so, just for the record you posted
your phone number on the Python Ireland (public) list.
At the moment I think it would be more interesting to have the longer
presentations be on somewhat established projects (as in: the project
has a licence, the code is available, there is ideally a bug tracker
and it already accepted an external contributions).
You should still feel free to come along though, there'll be
super-fast lightning talks (~2-3mins) for people to tell about what
they will be working on for the evening and hopefully find other
contributors. Several people expressed an interest in "pair
programming" on personal open-source projects e.g. hosted on github,
with the author at hand. That sounds like it would fit what you're
looking for perfectly!
The program for tomorrow is going to be something like that:
- 2 x 10-15mins talks
* on open-source in general (tomorrow, confirmed: licences)
* and on an open-source project specifically (I'm still waiting to
hear back from a couple of people, though anyone interested in
presenting tomorrow or next time get in touch please :))
- ? x 2-5mins lightning talks on the project the speaker plans on
working on for the evening, so other interested people can join in
Hope to see you and other Python folks there :)
Julie
