Geekcruise! Hmm, will I ping PyConUK folks if Pythonistas here in Ireland are interested as well?

Maybe we can do a joint conference together?

Oh, and a Happy New Year, everyone!

Cheers,

/// Vicky

Greetings all, and a Happy New Year to everyone.

At PyCon UK in September there was some exciting talk about a trip to Spain in the spring, on Brittany Ferries' Pont Aven to Santander. Is this still a possibility?

I know the area reasonably well, as it's a trip I've made several times over the last few years.

I also have contacts in the area, including a project not far from Santander which might even be able to offer a suitable venue (if numbers are not too large).

Best wishes,

Daniele

Hi All,

I am definitely interested :-) Do we have details of this conference? When, where, how many days, what cost?

/Jakub

Hi All,

Zeth totally up for Irish Pythonistas to tag along. I didn't know that someone mentioned doing a PyConUK up in Belfast, that would have been really cool!

Oh they are mentioning Santandar in the thread... here's one of the replies:

I've just been mailed details of a ferry deal that might be relevant.  In brief it is a return by Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Santander, for £159 return two sharing an inside en-suite cabin.  Runs until late March.  (Which I think is when they transfer the boat to Plymouth Santander for the summer.)

You can sign up to PyCon UK's mailing list if you want to follow-up with the conversation. It's hard for me to post the different threads, but I will try and keep ye posted. If you have ideas as well, I can post on behalf of you, it's a copy&paste jobby anyway, so that's no problem. :-)

Cheers,

/// Vicky

If you fly into Southampton or Gatwick or wherever, it is easy enough,
but it is (in theory) possible to get on the boat at Cork, and then
have a day trip in France before going to the UK, picking up the UK
Pythonistas, and carrying onto Spain, but you will end up on the boat
for the whole week...
