Hi,

There will be a talk this Wed @ 6pm in the UCD Comp Sci lecture
theatre entitled "Everything you wanted to know about cloud
computing but were afraid to ask." The talk will be given by Joe
Drumgoole, CEO, CloudSplit.

Joe will talk abt:
- what is cloud computing
- is it different from previous distributed computing paradigms
- what are the benefits of cloud computing
- what are the current technologies used to provide cloud computing
services
- what are the deficiencies with current cloud computing solutions
- what the future holds for cloud computing

All welcome (it's free!!!).

I can't make it on Wednesday.

Do you know if there will be recordings of the talk published?

Hi Alan,

Working on this - just asked Google if it might be possible to add
Ireland
to list of countries which can put content on Google edu; also working
on
the more mundane matters of sorting out video camera, etc.

Hope to have video and slideware somewhere in the next week or so,
with an ultimate view of putting on Google edu if they let us.
