I have a process running under celery and also an apache process. I
want them both to use the same keyring is this possible?
or will i have to add the key to both keyrings' at the same time?

If you have the latest version, you should be able to specify the
keyring to use via a keyword argument to the GPG constructor. See
http://packages.python.org/python-gnupg/#getting-started
