Subject: Event organization

Hi everybody,

I followed the suggestion of Ludovic to contact Friedger Müffke of Android
Belgium, as they already organized events at Google offices. I got a quick
answer where he suggested that, if we are interested, we had a joint event
on Oct. 11. They planned a meetup with the "Cloud" topic. He also asked if
someone would be interested in giving a talk on Google App Engine with
Python.

Let me know what you think so that I could give him an answer quickly.

Best regards,

Philippe

It would be no problem for me either to get there.
But I have no experience with Google's App Engine, anyone else ?

@dries if everything goes through we could carpool if you don't mind ?

I'm very interested in Google App Engine but haven't made the jump so far.
Would be interesting on so many levels.
@jonas carpool +1 of course.

Philippe, thanks for the contact.

Nevertheless, from my point of view, we must find a Google App Engine
Python expert who wants make a talk before "officialize" this event.

I propose to have two events: one at Google if we find somebody to
present Google App Engine Python, and the drink, should be at Delirium Café.

Ok for you ?

Same for me. I just touched very lightly Google App Engine when they
started it but not since then.

So, I guess that might be a topic for a future meeting. Maybe we can just
take the opportunity of this joint event to meet/discuss...

Ludovic, I didn't see your message before replying. So, you suggest we do
not do the joint event if we have no one to present a talk. Is that correct?

I might be able to do a short talk on, maybe "managing multiple VPS
deployment with Fabric" (cf. Linode or Amazon EC2 (though in Google
offices, this might considered blasphemy)) ?

best regards,
Jeroen Dierckx

Correct.
It's a little bit strange to have a Python meeting during in a Cloud
meeting if we don't have a cloud presentation, isn't it ?

Yes, I think the intent is to have a Python talk related to the topic
'Cloud', so that's why they suggested Google App Engine.

Now, we could also attend the meeting without giving a presentation in
order to see how they manage their user group, get advice, ...

Sounds interesting enough for me. As I have a Java background and some interest in Android.

Is there a website about this meet-up ?
