Thanks for sharing these with us, it was good to see. The Pyrenean Sheepdog works so different to a Border Collie, I discovered this the first time I took Ricaud down the fields when he was 14 months old. Sheep were in the opposite field and he was totally fascinated with them, their whole stance and body posture is completely different. Unfortunately the sheep did not belong to us so there was no chance of Ricaud being introduced to them but he did show great interest.Karen

Well done from us, too!! Are you going to continue with more training??
We would love to know when there is another herding day also,

That's excellent for Remy and Celeste.
It seems there are several of us keen to try our Pyreneans at herding instinct, I would really love to attend a session but don’t know enough about trainers of different breeds etc, does anyone else have the contacts to organise it? Or if you know of good trainers and give me their details I can try to fix a date/venue and we’ll try to get as many Pyreneans going as possible! North Yorkshire is a fair way from me (4+hrs) I don’t know where everyone lives but somewhere central would be good, or not too far from a major truck road (A1/M1/M6) and a campsite. :-)

Hello everyone,
Following on from the successes of Remy and Celeste it seems many of us would like the chance to see how our Pyreneans work with sheep. There are few places that offer workshops, and none that I can find near the middle of the country! It’s important that we go somewhere we can trust, a bit of fun should not risk the health or happiness of our dogs. Its with that in mind that the recommendation from Shane, to go to Jacqui Goulders near Pickering, North Yorkshire, seems a good one. The website is http://www.spanglefish.com/herdingbeardies/index.asp?pageid=42249
Please would anyone interested in a w/e hopefully in the early part of next year, please email me your details, and any weekends you cant do (march-may), and preferably an indication of whether you’re 90% certain you’ll come or 30%! Just to give me an idea of numbers.
There are campsites and B&Bs nearby for those of us travelling to get there (4hrs for me!), and I believe costs are around £25 per dog per day (£5 for spectators only), not bad for a days activity.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I will be 100% interested in going providing it is a weekend I am free. I will check my dates tomorrow and let you know.
Lucky you only being 4 hours away LOL. My trip will be more like 6 hours.

I have had a look at dates March-May and so far as I can see the only weekends I would find difficult are 17-18th April (assuming that Working & Pastoral of Wales do give us classes next year <g>) and 8-9th May (PSD classes at Birmingham). Crufts is on a Thursday next year (11th March) so I will have no problems that weekend (13-14th).

Hi Jenni
Thanks for trying to organise something. Really looking forward to having a go. I could be booked everyweekend from beg April to end Nov, so will obviously just work around the dates you can give us. We are away at the end of May for the bank holiday for 2 weeks and so would not be available then. Thanks again, say hello to Bobby from Parys xxxx
