We have some good Power by logo's up that ToddG made awhile ago
(http://pylons.tgtg.org/powered/).... and I've been thinking it'd be
nice to have an actual "logo" for use on t-shirts, the website, etc.
As I'm not a graphics persons myself, I'm putting out a request to
all those interested.... Pylons wants a logo!
It can either be a single graphic that works in a "square" type area,
like the TurboGears gear, or even a nice styling of the words with
graphics like Django's plain but distinctive spelling/font face. Of
course, since we'd like to use this logo in various media such as the
website, t-shirts, etc. any logo submitted/provided should be put in
the public domain.
The last time we issued a call looking for logo's and website
theme's, we got some great responses, I'm hoping as the Pylons user-
base has grown, we'll get even more this time. Please also ensure
that a copy of the logo is available as an Illustrator file or some
vector-based format so that it will scale properly for various formats.
Anyone up for the challenge? :)
Cheers,
Ben
Is this tied to any release plans or just a general initiative/plan?
In other words is this for a 1.0 party (or more conservatively
0.9.6 :-) or just a general effort to increase visibility?
I've always found the website overall to have a decent fit and finish,
but a bit gloomy, like a rainy day. I wouldn't propose screaming happy
yellow everywhere, but perhaps a bit less dour? It's a big can of
worms though I know... but when you're learning something and banging
your head on the desk, even a little cheer can help!

It is part of a general effort to increase visibility, but that being
said I think we'd all like to have a solid brand in place ready for the
1.0 release!

OK, that's the black on the top then I suppose. I think if we had a
really strong logo we could probably lighten up the whole thing.
