7+ years working experience as a DBA
5+ years working experience on Unix/Linux
Experience managing multi-terabyte databases.
Proficient experience with Oracle 9i/10g/11g.
Ability to design, implement and support Oracle production databases for high
availability, security, manageability and reliability.
6. Proficiency in Oracle partitioning, RAC, ASM, Advanced Security, Data Encryption, Active
Data Guard
7. Proficiency in Oracle database administration on Linux, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris Operating
systems
8. Proficiency in Oracle upgrades/migrations from 9i/10 to 11g.
9. Proficiency in Oracle backup and recovery techniques including RMAN, Networker
backups
10. Experience in Patching and database refreshes using Data pump, RMAN methods.
11. Proficiency in advanced Performance Tuning - SQL, I/O and Application tuning,
transaction monitoring, detecting resource contentions


12. Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate.
13. Experience in managing large Data Warehouse environments.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. OEM Repository Installation and configuring with various databases, nodes and
instances. Configuration of events, jobs and reports for Instance, node, server
monitoring through Grid Control.
2. Proficiency in data migration, data archiving and data access techniques.
3. Experience in implementing PCI and SOX regulatory compliances for Oracle databases.
4. Experience in Golden Gate Implementations.
5. Proficiency in maintaining Database Standards, Reviews, Documentation, Quality
Assurance
6. Design, test and implement Disaster Recovery and Contingency Plans for databases,
data centers and mission critical instances and applications.
7. Strong knowledge or Oracle & PL/ SQL, Unix and shell scripting

It is desired that the capacity candidate know how to construct capacity models that reflect
