Subject: PyAIM
Hello

Am trying to connect to icq via pyaim- t-0.5. user is able to register
properly and get the following spool file

- <xdb>
- <aimtrans xdbns="aimtrans:data">
  <logon id="437984829" pass="XXXX" />
  </aimtrans>
  </xdb>

That means the user is getting registered on the network. But somehow
that doesnt work. I mean the user cant see his icq buddies nor can he
chat. Even after registration on the local jabber sever the user is
shown offline.

AIM works absolutely fine with pyaim- t-0.5.

Kindly do help me out.

Regards
Vishal

Hi Norman

Not able to resolve this. Have got pyaim-t-0.8a installed. AIM works
fine on this but ICQ doesnt. Gives the following error on the client:

Authentication Error!
Incorrect username or password.
http://www.aim.com/errors/MISMATCH_PASSWD.html?ccode=us&lang=en

The username and password are correct and I can login form a ICQ
client.

Strangely am able to register successfuly the ICQ account by the
Jabber client

SASL, RouteWrap and Component building are disabled on the config
file.

Kinldy let me know

Regards
Vishal

I'm not sure about the inner working of the AIM transport (I only maintain
irc,mail,mxit,yahoo - not aim,icq,msn).  My guess would be that you should
use the PyICQt if you're using an ICQ account.

Hi Norman

Thanks for your inputs. appreciate that. Same problem on PyICQt also.
AIM works fine but ICQ doesnt. The transport allows registration, but
after few seconds or less shows up Authentication Error for ICQ login.

Following link another user has the same problem:

I have browsed extensively on the net. Noting there on this. Didnt
find anything on blathersource.org either.

Thanks
Vishal
