Uncle Don

Hi! My name is Doug Purcell, Grandson of Samuel Richard Purcell, who
was a long time member in the 70's and 80's. He introduced me to
TPFOA many years ago, before his death. I checked out the site
tonight, and was pleasantly surprised to see a photo of my Uncle Don
Purcell, from his college days in Nebraska. I really wish I had all
of my grandfather's research, because I believe he had traced it back
to Tipperary. I am thinking of joining, but at the moment cannot
afford the dues. I will keep it in mind.
Just wanted to share my pride in seeing my part of the Purcell family
represented!

Doug, I don't know you, however, your location of St. Charles, Mo
intrigues me. I remember that my great grandfather James W Purcell
(Born July 1, 1998, middle name either William or Wesley) lived in St.
Charles, MO for a while...I was only about 9 at the time. But I
remember trips to St Charles and so I was wondering if your branch of
Purcells are from this area. I know you are not a member yet. But, I
joined just recently, I went about a year waiting to find the extra
funds to spend on membership. So I understand. My husband and I are
self employed and have been building our business since his lay off in
2009 so do not despair, you are not the only one that had to wait on
joining because of money being tight. Please email me privately at

may be a common link. My great great grandfather was John Wesley
Purcell. Although I now live in Wichita, Kansas as far as I know my
Purcell line is not from Kansas. They were from Arkansas. I came to
Wichita in 2005 to date and later marry my husband in 2006. Don't let
the recentness of my marriage fool you on my age. Both of had been
married several years to others and divorced. I am 51 years old.
However, there are a lot of Purcell's in this area.
