0.25.1 installed via gem on opensolaris 2009.06

I only see this error when my puppet master is set up to use mongrel

root@puppet:~# puppetd --test
info: Retrieving plugin
err: /File[/var/puppet/lib]: Failed to generate additional resources
using 'eval_generate': No format match the given format name or mime-
type (text/html)
err: /File[/var/puppet/lib]: Failed to retrieve current state of
resource: No format match the given format name or mime-type (text/
html) Could not retrieve file metadata for puppet://puppet/plugins: No
format match the given format name or mime-type (text/html)
err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: No format match
the given format name or mime-type (text/html)
warning: Not using cache on failed catalog
err: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping run

Please let me know what additional information I can provide. I've
been plugging away at this for a few hours and am just digging myself
deeper.

Thanks

the client is opensolaris? what OS is the server? are the versions the same between the client and server?
