Turn left and ride along the river bank until you come to a deep drain across the track. Turn left and come up the stop bank along the drain (you may need to go through a gate- do not cross the bridge and continue along the river bank). Riders need to wear safety equipment and be moderately experienced to enjoy the day: at minimum able to free mount and ride up and down a kerb. Bring water and plenty of snack food because we will likely stay in the bush until mid afternoon if the weather is good.

To get to Kahuterawa Loop: drive south down Fitzherbert Ave, across the bridge, past Massey University. Approx 5k out of town, turn left down Old West Road, then immediately turn right onto Kahuterawa Road. Drive approx 20 minutes up the valley, including a long dirt road section until you get to the very end of the road which is the start of the MTB tracks. Park in the carpark to avoid congestion.

Optional 2 hour distance ride around Greens Road Loop, which is on the way out to K Loop. Ask Steve or Malcolm for directions.
