I totally agree. My fantasy is to collaborate with some clever people to design a printer based on the Hadron that's bigger, has dual extruders, plugs into your USB port, comes with software that the average user can figure out, and just works.

What I don't get is why the electronics (especially the steppers) cost so
much. An arduino is $20, yet the steppers seem to always fall into the $50
each or more price range. You can get 1/4 hp electric drills far cheaper
than a single stepper, which is weird.
