I've got some Adobe Illustrator files that I'd like to import into
Google Sketchup, but not as bitmaps. I understand it's possible to do
that with the "Pro" version of Sketchup, but I don't want to buy it
just to convert these couple of files to experiment to see if Sketchup
will do what I need it to for one, hopefully quick, project. Anyone
out there with appropriate software who would be willing to help me
out by converting these files for me?

just found a program called 'graphics converter'
shareware, does a lot of things photoshop does, for 40$ or a little less.
it boasts a ton of graphic format conversions.

Unfortunately, while it converts a lot of file types, it doesn't
convert .ai (Adobe Illustrator files) to .skp (Google sketchup). Both
are vector rather than raster filetypes.

Aleksandra-- I'd like to take you up on that, it's probably quickest.
