Hey you guys,
i was wondering if anyone in this group can help me better understand
some burning questions I have... I have in my possession an Apple iMac
Blueberry color computer, you know, one of those with the built in
tower/CPU, so it's just the monitor, keyboard and mouse... I was
wondering if anyone knows if, since I am using the Mac OS X 10.1...
[Puma] software on it, is it possible to upgrade it, or rather install
Mac OS X 10.4 or higher (Tiger or Leopard) software, on the computer?
In other words, can I also upgrade the software so that i can later
install and have the Parallels Desktop on it? Keeping in mind the
model of my Mac computer, and the current software on it, would I be
able do so?
Please someone get back to me ASAP!! Thanks!!!

I'm behind in my mail. Go to www.everymac.com and narrow down your imac a little. It will also give you a "preinstalled and a maximum os"
another little program that resides on your computer is "MacTracker" (look on www.versiontracker.com). It provides more info. chuckle

yes, for shure up to 10.3, panther, but you can go up to tiger, only by the help of XPostfacto, IMHO no leopard nope parallel desktop, the first requiring at least a G4, the latter an intel processor.
Thanks for the help, so what you're saying is that the iMac that I have which is one like this, on the following website: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac_dv_400.html and has a CD-ROM in the slot loader, will be able to upgrade from (Mac OS X 10.1) Puma to (Mac OS X 10.4) Tiger, but no further than that? And it cannot have Parallels Desktop unless it is G4?
