There are many decorative items that you can bring to your home which can add a touch of class or a touch of elegance. One item that can transform a room easily is an Australian sheepskin rug. These rugs bring class and elegance into a room easily, especially if you use it as a focal point in a room such as the living room or even the bedroom. However there are many sellers who offer replica versions, and this can present a real problem for those who want authentic choices.
Isn’t Replica Okay?
In today’s economy, everyone is trying to save a pound here or a pound there. It’s why people are now beginning to try the non-name brand items in the grocery store, and why they’re shopping for clothes at stores that do not carry designer labels. So when you’re dealing with Australian sheepskin rugs, isn’t buying a replica version all right? After all, it will save you hundreds or even thousands of pounds and will look exactly the same, why not purchase a knockoff or replica version of the rug that you’ve been wanting to add to your living room?
Defining Replica Versions
If you’ve decided that you want to buy a designer handbag, but that you don’t want to pay the high price tag associated with it, you may look at replica bags. These replica bags are generally made using the same materials that the original bags are made using, which makes them just about as good as the designer bags. Doesn’t the same hold true for replica Australian sheepskin rugs? Not necessarily.
The thing that makes Australian sheepskin rugs so beautiful and sought after is that they’re made using sheepskin that comes from Australia. When you look to many of the replica versions of these rugs, they’re made using synthetic materials. These materials are not truly found in nature and do not carry the same kind of feel or ability to last as a genuine Australian sheepskin rug would. They also are not hypoallergenic, as an Australian sheepskin rug is, because they’re not made with 100% sheepskin.
True sheepskin is recognized as being one of the oldest and most natural materials that has ever been used in the known world, and for a good reason: a sheepskin rug is stain resistant, soil resistant, and even flame resistant (although it’s best if you don’t test this ability on your own sheepskin rug). It is naturally resilient and feels absolutely heavenly. Can a replica version duplicate a genuine Australian sheepskin rug?
So far, no. There have been no great replica versions of Australian sheepskin rugs that have made the rounds yet. People who do not care for purchasing natural animal hide may want to purchase a faux rug, which is a great option for their sensibilities but will not have the same abilities or feel of a genuine Australian sheepskin rug. If you’re buying Australian sheepskin rugs, go for the genuine article every time. Australian Sheepskin Rugs have much longer and denser wool pile; they are softer to the touch and usually the hides tend to be bigger. So why compromise don’t settle for less buy the best.
