Laminators are good for protecting documents of all sizes, from the smallest business card to the largest poster. If you need to laminate smaller items - such as ID badges, index cards, and 4" x 6" snapshots - you need a machine that's up to the task. Here are five great ones you should check out.

1. Akiles Pro-Lam 100. If you're looking for a professional-grade laminator, the Pro-Lam 100 is a great choice. This machine has a 4-inch throat and was designed to handle a lot of use. It has aluminum heating plates and four rollers for flawless lamination. It can laminate two feet of material in a single minute. This machine has separate heat and motor switches which allow you to leave the machine in standby mode for a long time so you won't need to wait for it to heat up again when you're ready to use it. Despite this, the motor won't overheat and become damaged. The Pro-Lam 100 has a one-year warranty.

2. Fellowes EXL 45-2. This is Fellowes' smallest laminator and it's a really good one. It has a feed opening that's 4-1/2 inches wide and is great for occasional use. It can laminate an item in 30 seconds or less and it's compatible with pouches that are up to 5 mil thick. The 45-2 has both hot and cold settings so you can laminate photographs and other heat-sensitive items. This machine will shut off automatically so you'll never have to worry about it overheating. It comes with a two-year warranty.

3. GBC HeatSeal H110. GBC HeatSeal laminators are very good products and the H110 is no exception. This machine has a 4.5-inch throat and can accept pouches up to 7 mil thick. It has fixed temperature controls (including a cold setting) that make this a laminator very easy to use. It has two rollers for great results and can laminate a documents that's 6 inches long in one minute. Plus, it's great for both home and office use. Each one comes with a limited one-year warranty.

4. Royal Sovereign ES-410. The ES-410 is a personal pouch laminator that can also be used for small office applications. It has a 4-inch throat and is capable of laminating photographs. There are a few different temperature settings including a cold one for those heat-sensitive documents. The ES-410 has two rollers to ensure your items are laminated perfectly and you don't need to use a carrier. It can accept both 3 and 5 mil pouches and it comes with a limited one-year warranty.

5. Tamerica LP-120. Finally, we have the LP-120, a device that can handle the full range of laminating pouches, even ones that are 10 mil thick. This machine has all-metal construction so it's extremely durable. It also has an adjustable temperature setting so you can have total control over your laminating. If warranty is a consideration for you, keep in mind that the LP-120's warranty only lasts for 90 days. However, this machine is so well-built, you probably won't need to worry about it.

As you can see, there are a lot of great small laminators on the market. Whether you prefer the Fellowes EXL 45-2's automatic shut-off feature or the durable construction of the Tamerica LP-120 or something in between, there's definitely a laminator that can help you protect all of your small documents. Get one today!
