How often have you seen a child running to a window and peering out at the falling snow with a big smile and a pumpkin like face. Most children love snow, and the more the better. I know when I was a child I certainly loved the snow, and for two reasons, if often kept me home from School that day, and it made for a very fun day playing in it. As we grow from children into adults we often stop playing in the snow and having such fun because we mature as we age, and the stress of daily life, makes it so some people seem to lose a lot of their joy. Those that are lucky enough to have a playful spouse or children, know that joy and having fun, is something we all need to experience, a world without laughter and fun would not be a very nice place for anyone. On them cold winter days if your an adult and you find yourself alone, or with empty time on your hands, why not have some fun solving puzzles, in puzzle books.

Just about everyone has enjoyed Puzzle Books from one time or another, and thousands of folks enjoy them every day. When I was younger I used to love trying to solve them, it made the time pass by, and it gave me something interesting to do. Puzzle Books can still be bought for very low prices, most dollar stores and book stores carry them, and often they can be bought for 99 cents, or around that price, and sometimes these puzzle books are huge, often 2 inches thick or even more, giving you enough puzzles to solve for the whole winter season when your stuck inside with nothing to do.

Puzzle Books come in all forms, and many of them contain multiple types of puzzles, here are just a few of the different types of puzzles in these books:

Crossword puzzles - You have to guess what word answers a question, and fit's properly inside a set amount of squares or spaces.
Cryptogram puzzles - Letters of the alphabet has been changed or scrambled, and you must figure out their correct meaning or sequence to spell a word, or message.
Word Search puzzles - There are words hidden in a large group or square of letters, you must find the words and circle them

There are many more types of puzzles also, including; Math Square Puzzles and Letter Tile Puzzles

Puzzle Books are not just for when your stuck inside with nothing to do during the winter months, they are also enjoyed throughout the year at different times, some people like solving them when they are sitting on the back porch, drinking a beverage and relaxing, others take them with them when they are riding the bus to work, or traveling on a long trip, to help pass the time.

Puzzle books make great Birthday and Christmas presents, for folks from age 6 to 96, as long as you can read and write and use a pencil, anyone can have great fun solving them. The next time you visit a discount store or a book store, pick up a couple Puzzle Books, you will have a great activity to not only help pass the time, when you having nothing to do, you will also have a great activity to help beat the winter blues.

There is a website that describes numerous activities and other methods to help eliminate the Winter Blues, this website is called: Winter Activities - and it may be found at this url: http://www.winter-activities.com
