Friends and family can be great support, so why hire a life coach? There are a number of stand out reasons a life coach might be a better choice than relying on people who think they know whats best for you.
Honestly, how often does that really happen? Friends and family members love you and mean well, but theyve got an agenda for you (and usually not one they can all agree on) things theyd like to see you do and be that may not actually be compatible with who you really are or what you really want.
A life coach offers the objectivity of a third party who is motivated by his or her own goals to be an effective successful coach, whatever that takes. Your success, however you define that, is his or her agenda.
Imagine your passion for living restored. Your coach can help pull you out of the ruts youre in and help you find happiness in building a life instead of just making a living.
A life coach helps you to define and organize your goals. Once you know where you want to go, he or she provides you with the tools you need to get there.
Along with goals comes purpose. Have you gotten to the point where you just wonder, What IS the point? Life coaching can help you define or redefine your purpose, your drive, what it is that will make you want to get out of bed in the morning.
What are some of the big life-changing stresses most of us experience at some time? Divorce, marriage, and the death of a loved one would certainly be three experiences that could affect you. The same could be said for moving, changing or losing a job, as well as the diagnosis of a terminal disease. An experienced life coach will give you the tools you need to deal with those important and sometimes earth shattering transitions that can really rock your boat.
In an increasingly materialistic artificial world, more and more people find that they have a void that just cant be filled with stuff. Your life coach can be a guide to help you find the things that are missing in your life the things that really matter to you, that will fill that void with meaningful substance.
Destructive behaviours and emotional habits are another area in which a life coach can be invaluable. Many of our self-destructiveness results from having to create ways of coping with abusive situations or overwhelming stresses at a young age, when we were ill equipped to deal with such things. Your coach can help you develop new healthy coping skills and break the bad habits and self-destructive patterns of the past.
So, what about a life coach? Are you ready to do the work? A coach who does the work his team should be doing isnt really helping his team. This is no different. Your coach will help you decide what work out you need, but you have to do the push ups yourself. If youre willing to do what it takes, then get ready to start your journey to better happier you.
