A tropical tree is most often very unique and dramatic. The tropical tree, such as the palm tree, gives off an exotic look to a home or garden. The palm tree is the signature of Southern California laidback lifestyle. A tropical tree is known for having bold lines and are so striking in nature that the tree is usually the center of attention.
It is important to select the right type of tropical tree. A tropical tree is a beautiful landscaping accent that can be used both outdoors and indoors. Many people before they purchase a tropical tree are curious as to how fast a tropical tree grows. This is a very common question that can be answered quite simply.
When discussing tropical trees it is important to understand the form of the tree, the ultimate size of the tree and the adaptability of the tropical tree to a particular environment. A tropical tree must be compatible with the environment and use. There are two basic leaf shapes and growth patterns that tropical trees are noted for. A tropical tree either has feather leaves or fan leaves. A tropical tree will either have a clump of several stems or one stem.
When a tropical tree has leaves that are hand shaped and leaf segments that seem to radiate from a central point this is called palmate leaves. Pinnacle or feather leaves then to have leaf segments that are distributed along the sides of the tropical trees elongated central stalk.
A tropical tree that has a single stem will become more treelike when compared to a tropical tree that has clumping stems. The latter type of tropical tree is considered to be more shrub like. A tropical tree that has a clumping stem can actually be made into tree palms by thinning out the clump.
When you do this you want to make sure that the stems are well spaced from each other. A single-stemmed topical tree can be made to look more like clumping trees by planting them closely together. Before a landscaper does this one must check the adaptability of the tropical tree to the environmental conditions.
A tropical tree can easily clash with another tropical tree and compete for attention. When planting a tropical tree one must consider several environmental factors such as light, temperature, wind and humidity. Most of the larger tropical trees require full sun for a good portion of the day in order to grow to their full height.
The smaller tropical trees do best in full or partial shade. This type of tree is perfect to have indoors. A tropical tree that does best in the sun or in a hotter inland region will typically tolerate more sun in a coastal area that is oftentimes cooler.
A tropical tree will grow quite fast when in the right type of climate. A tropical tree can literally shoot up if the environmental factors are ideal. If you are considering having a tropical tree you want to remember each of the environmental factors before selecting a tropical tree.
