*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
The other day, while talking to a friend, she said "I would never ever date a diabetic" and that made me start to think about some things. You see, when I was growing up, my father had diabetes and I remember watching him poke a needle in his skin to do a test. Would I ever date a diabetic? Let me go over a couple of things, before I tell you if I would ever date a diabetic or not. If you want to know more about this topic, you can read the tips and guide below.

When I question myself, random thoughts started to run through my head and this is the research I gathered...

It must be hard to watch someone you love poke a needle in the skin, witness their mood swings and watch them being hooked up to different machines. However, if you truly love that individual, then you would understand that during this time, they need a large amount of support. Even though diabetes is horrible, we were able to come up with some positive thoughts (remember, you should always cast the negative thoughts to the side).

When Their Sugar is Normal

When they have a normal sugar level, they will never take your sweets! That last piece of cheese cake? Go ahead and have it, because your partner can't eat it.

When They Are Grumpy

There's always a reason as to why someone is grumpy, but with a diabetic, you will have a better understanding as to why they are grumpy, which will make it easier for you to understand them.

They Are Humans Too

Just because someone has an illness or disease, that does not mean they are not human. There are many individuals out there who are currently dealing with diabetes and those people think, feel, act and cry in the same manner as you and I.

The Cons of Dating an Individual Who is Dealing with Diabetes

Of course, there are MANY cons to dating a diabetic. For starters, they will constantly have to keep their blood sugar in check, which can be a problem to some. They will also have to watch the type of foods they eat, which makes it hard for you to cook what you want. Despite it all, if you truly love the individual who is suffering from this disease, you would go to the ends of the earth for them.

Before you say "I would never ever date a diabetic," you should do your research and get to know some people who are currently dealing with diabetes. Once you learn about these people and get to know them, you will see that they too are human beings with a heart. As for myself, I cannot say "I would never ever date a diabetic," because I know that we cannot help who we fall in love with. If my heart falls in love with a guy who has diabetes, then I will learn to accept that and you should too.
