Red Bank, N.J. - Robert J. Tuzzo, CEO and owner of Total Financial Concepts Inc., is now the newest member of the board of directors of the Jazz Arts Project. Mr. Tuzzo has been a longtime supporter of the Red Bank N.J. non-profit organization and now as a member of the board he hopes to further assist the group in their stated mission to, "preserve, promote and perpetuate the American musical art form known as jazz."
Bob Tuzzo is also a lifelong musician and has been a close friend of the Jazz Arts Project. Most recently he had an opportunity to perform at one of their musical events; their 6th Annual Frank Sinatra Birthday Bash held on December 7, 2012. Mr. Tuzzo began performing professionally when he was just ten years old. From these early beginnings his musical career led him to perform in some of the hottest nightclubs in New Jersey. From 1972 through 1985 Bob was the singer and drummer in the popular trio known as FDR Drive and shared the same bill in shows with legendary bands such as The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Len Barry, The Dovells and the Shirelles.
In 1985, Bob left FDR Drive to focus on his career and to devote 100% of his time to the financial services industry. He is now the CEO and owner of Total Financial Concepts, Inc., an integrated financial planning services firm that specializes in asset management and retirement plans located in Edison, N.J.
In commenting on being appointed to the board of the Jazz Arts Project Bob said, "I am very excited to be part of the Jazz Arts Project's board of directors. This will allow me to utilize my experience in the financial services industry to help grow the financial health of the organization which will ultimately perpetuate and reignite interest in this wonderful art form."
The Jazz Arts Project is instrumental in introducing jazz music to young students. They hold educational workshops and special programs designed especially for young students, many of whom have never seen or held a musical instrument. Jazz Arts Projects camps teach youngsters about music and get them interested in jazz in the hopes that their appreciation will help to preserve and grow this great American art form and captivate their interest for years to come.
Bob Tuzzo's experience and expertise will certainly help grow the financial arm and sponsorships of the Jazz Arts Project but from the sounds of it his role won't be limited to spreadsheets, ledgers and fund raisers. "I hope to bring new and fresh ideas to the organization that will help us continue to nurture the rising talent of young students interested in jazz," said Tuzzo.
