Alcohol addiction is a compulsive need for a toxic liquid. There are various intoxicating liquids such as wine, beer, whiskey, vodka, or any other hard liquor. Generally such liquids are made from fermented fruits or grains. A person is unable to abstain from drinking alcohol or people are very prone to alcohol craving then they are surely addictive to alcoholism. There are few symptoms observed to decide whether a person is addicted or not. This includes shakiness, nausea, sweating when they intake alcohol or they have a huge amount of alcohol in order to feel high. People drinking at this level are called alcoholics. For some people it is easy to stop drinking at once. However, alcoholism can just suppress your will to stop drinking.
If you are thinking of getting rid of alcoholism, self help may be an option but not most people are so strong willed and as such it is not possible to quit on your own. The addiction and the feeling of getting high not only affect you but all the other people in your life. Alcohol could get you in trouble, including crimes, murders, and accidents on roads due to heavy alcohol drinking. When you are totally drunk and high the oxygen supply to your brain is decreased which causes blackouts, you feel darkness in front of your eyes and you cannot remember anything regarding it. Alcoholism also affects ones sexual life, as you are not able to satisfy your partner. As a result, frustration causes you to fall back on alcohol again. Alcoholism even decreases blood circulation in the body which makes you feel low and less energetic. Malnutrition, muscles and joints pain as well as skin problems are an outcome.
There are many methods available to help you stop alcohol consumption but these treatments work at the conscious level only.
