A Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation at Club Med Columbus Isle might seem like an unusual spot, as Club Med isnt everyones idea of a honeymoon vacation destination. This 80 acre oceanfront village is one of Club Meds most luxurious resorts with all the rooms having handcrafted furniture and patios or balconies. The kind of people who visit Club Med Columbus Isle are quality high income couples, and the whole place has a very laid back low key atmosphere making it ideal as a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation Destination.
You will find the food and drinks at this Club Med some of the best you will find anywhere in the Bahamas. The buffets have a different theme every night, and eating a lamb which has been cooked on a spit under the stars would be a highlight anywhere. There is a choice of restaurants from the Berimboa which is Brazilian, where the buffet is enhanced by serving the meat after you have selected your salad. Watlings is a seafood restaurant, and there is a beach bar for drinks and daytime snacks. If you dont fancy anything in the buffet, there is a food station where you can go and request what you want which is pretty amazing
Most nights there is fish on the menu caught the very same day. There are very respectable wines by the bottle on each table. The cocktails, and all drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic are all well prepared and in abundance, and finally of course Club Med is All Inclusive in terms of food and drink
If you are a person who likes white fine sand beaches, and turquoise green warm water, especially Bahamas beaches, then this will not disappoint, in fact they are absolutely gorgeous. As an island San Salvador, or Columbus Isle so called because this is where Christopher Columbus landed on his historic voyage, has deserted beaches almost all round the island. It is worth renting a car for a day, take your snorkeling gear and go to Pigeon Lagoon, and Sandy Point. Even without a car, if you walk to the end of the beach at the far right of the resort you can snorkel at Coral Gardens. There is the usual problems with sandflies which you need to be aware of, so bring repellent.
For any holiday the accommodation must be up to scratch, and especially if you have chosen Club Med Columbus Isle for your Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation, and it is a really good choice. You really dont want any hassles at all, in fact you dont even want to have to think!! Youll get your room keys and a drink within seconds of getting off the plane, and within a couple of minutes you will be there, complete with your bracelets. The whole property is beautiful, mature trees, brightly coloured flowers, and the accommodation is all in two storey buildings and there are 200 rooms. You will either be facing the beach or palm shaded courtyards which themselves are filled with scented flowers. The villas are either blue, yellow, or pink, with two double beds, and plenty of room. And custom designed furnishings which gives a kind of Asian feel to it.
Being a Club Med there is a wide range of activities, although no pressure to join in if you dont want to.
Club Med Columbus Isle is undoubtedly a cut above other Club med properties. It does deal with a good class of client, many of whom are French. This could be a good choice for a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation.
