Imagine being able to see a rock that is more than 2 billion years old, or hold pieces of stones in your hand that date back to around 230 million years. This incredible experience can actually happen if you decide to pay a visit to The Grand Canyon. You can feel nature up close with the amazing Grand Canyon float tours.

Found in the US state of Arizona, it is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is approximately 277 miles in length and at its widest point it stretches to almost 18 miles. It is also around 600 ft deep. There are many points like Lipan Point on the South Rim from where you can see the entire area.

It has been shaped by the Colorado River that flows through. Priceless geological history has been brought to the front by this action of the river and its tributaries, as they cut through layer after layer of rock. Geologists have spent many years studying the rocks found in the Canyon and trying to unravel the mysteries of the Earth.

Grand Canyon attracts almost 5 million domestic as well as international tourists every year. Float expeditions have been introduced to make this experience even more memorable, and they do take your vacation to the next level. These expeditions are great value for money as you get to see areas that are not accessible or visible from the top.

These are typically one day tours that can be taken from the South Rim. You start with a normal cruise atop motorized pontoon boats and get a chance to enjoy the calm and smooth water. The tour also includes swimming and bird watching, so you literally get to leave the city behind and embrace the wild.

The tours are open for all ages. Children above the age of 4 years can be brought along for this tour, as it is perfectly safe and does not cover any rapids in the river. Senior citizens can also sign up; everyone gets an opportunity to explore hidden canyons, waterfalls, stop and get down at a beach and have lunch. But do not make the mistake of assuming you will not have your share of adventure.

The float tours cover a distance ranging from 11 to 15 miles. They take you into the very heart of the Canyon and once there, you can almost see nature at work. It is a feeling that cannot be described in words, it can only be felt. So, you have to agree that these tours give you way more than what they charge you for, because you cannot a put on price tag on the sense of exhilaration you will feel when you go through the valley and see the larger than life cliffs on either side of you.

These experiences are seasonal and start around April, but bookings begin before that so it would be better to book in advance. It would save you a lot of discomfort to book accommodations too beforehand. You should also bring suitable clothing as the climate gets very hot here. So, pack your bags and let us head out for the Grand Canyon float tours.
