The top Harbour Island Hotel just has to be The Rock House Hotel, and there are many reasons for this. Firstly it has been given this rating by many people and organizations, and they cant all be wrong. At first sight it may not appear the ideal place for a Bahamas Honeymoon Vacation, as you are staying at an hotel, which isnt exactly the quietest place in the Caribbean

One thing is certain, and that is if you are looking for a small boutique hotel for let us say a Bahamas Honeymoon, and one that definitely doesnt allow children, then the ten room hotel that is the Rock House is the place.
In fairness you will either love it or hate it, but the number of return guests does say something very strongly.

This is not a hotel where you come to as an escape from twenty first century life, because it is far too action packed and noisy for that, with rock and roll music playing all the time. The whole feel of the place is not anything like an hotel, but much more like you are staying in a villa owned by a friend.

Four of the nine rooms are in the main building, and these rooms are right next door to the bar, the restaurant, and generally where people hang out in the evenings, so it is noisy and sociable until around eleven oclock when non guests are asked to leave the premises. Bearing this in mind you can see that The Rock House Hotel Harbour Island isnt the kind of place where you may never meet another guest. Its fantastic if your idea of a vacation is to socialize and let your hair down a bit!! In fact your fellow guests will include a number of what can only be described as trendy people, all very fashionable, so if that is your scene, then Rock House on Harbour Island is very much the place for you.

What it is that makes people return here, is a mixture of the service, the incredible owners, the beautifully well maintained pool area, and of course the atmosphere, they have worked so hard to create. The Rock has been described with some justification as drop dead gorgeous, and is so beautiful you could spend the whole day just gazing at it. The service is of the very best, with an exceptionally good restaurant. You need to be aware that Wednesday evenings is an especially busy time in the restaurant due to it being closed evening elsewhere, but you will always be able to get a table, even a late reservation as a Rock House Hotel resident.

The Rock House Hotel is not on the beach, and whilst this does enable some fabulous views at dawn and dusk from the bedrooms, which by the way are very much in keeping with the rest of this stylish boutique hotel, with a lot of attention to detail, it does mean a short if interesting journey to the beach by golf cart, of around sixty seconds!!.
The Rock Island Hotel has its own part of the Pink Sands Beach, which is beautiful in its own right. Here you will find comfortable beach chairs and a cooler right by with whatever you want in the way of drinks, and even a picnic lunch, if you dont want to try a local restaurant.

Finally the service is fantastic, something you dont always find in the Bahamas, and the staff will know your food and drink likes and dislikes almost immediately. You will be treated like royalty.

If you like this type of vacation, then The Rock House Hotel on Harbour Island could well be the answer to your Bahamas Vacation or honeymoon. Just dont expect it to be restful!!
