Baby showers aren't only for women these days. Whether a single man has decided to take the plunge into fatherhood, male partners are welcoming a little one into their lives, or the family has decided that Daddy and Mommy each need a celebration of their own, it's time to think outside of the box. A man can be at the heart of the party too! Here are some tips to help get your creative juices flowing so you can throw the best male baby shower ever.

Go for a Sports Theme

There's no bigger home run or field goal then a baby on the way! Pump up the excitement in anticipation of the arrival with a baby shower that revolves around a man's sport of choice.

Example Sports Theme Ideas

Nascar

Race to the finish line if NASCAR is the name of the game and bring in checkered flags for decorations, paper products that fit the racing theme, and put the race on television.

Baseball

If it's America's favorite pastime that really makes the father-to-be happy, hang up some pennants that say, "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl!" and roll out baseball decorations.

Football

A football themed shower can start off with baby shower invitations made to look like tickets to the super bowl. Then at the actual shower a football shaped cake with mini chocolate footballs, as well as nachos for refreshments can help tie it all together.

No matter which sport is the father-to-be favorite it comes down to good food and great friends. Everyone can kick back and have a beer, enjoy some snacks, and let Dad have at those presents. As for the gifts, they'll depend on if it's a boy or a girl. When men come to the party, they might think about bringing a present that fits the theme or is well-suited to Dad's personality.

How About a Barbecue?

If the weather cooperates and it's the right time of year, there's nothing better than a backyard barbecue. Recruit a grill master to do the cooking, bring out the buckets of iced drinks, set out some salads, and keep it simple. Guys don't need anything fancy. They like good food, good company, and a cold drink. It's the perfect way for a group of good buddies to help a friend ring in this next chapter in life!

Head to the Bar

For a daddy baby shower you are allowed to think outside the box a little. For many men, there's no better haven than the bar! Reserve a favorite location for an afternoon and make the party happen. Alcohol, chips, and pretzels are a great mix while the crowd makes a big noise about a baby on the way.

Just because you are not throwing a traditional baby shower doesnt mean you cant have fun with it. However, the most important thing to remember is the guest of honor's preferences. Put on a party that suits his personality. Keep it low key or go over the top and remember to have fun! This will be an occasion that he never forgets.
